Yikes. To us, this is a no-brainer, but reasonable minions can disagree.
Look, maybe she thinks the red carpet is ridiculous and stupid. Maybe she's not into clothes or promoting herself. Believe it or not, despite the nature of this blog, we completely understand that point of view. But here's the thing: IF you're not into fashion or into promoting yourself: DON'T SHOW UP IN FUSSY, HARD-TO-WEAR OUTFITS. Pull a power lesbian move and go out in your basic black slacks and tuxedo jacket. Don't go for the fashion-y stuff and then RUIN it.
We like this look -- on the runway. The way she's wearing that top totally ruins the effect. Long, outside the skirt, with a tiny belt and the sleeves inexplicably down past her thumbs. She took an interesting, textural top with structural qualities and turned it into an oversized, wrinkled t-shirt. Plus, an outfit like this needs heavy shoes; not the cruiseline sandals she's sporting here. And finally, we hate to be dogmatic, but we tend to think if you're making a public appearance wearing very expensive designer clothes, then you should probably wash your hair and update your makeup sometime closer than 72 hours before the event. But that's just us. If you think we're wrong, you're going to have to convince us.
